It has been about 20 years since he made his first and only blood donation, way back in his army days. What made him decide to donate blood again, after all this years?

Better known as Zheng Ge Ping amongst his fans, Mr Edmund Tay admitted that the recent tsunami disaster has made him questioned the value of lives and other ways of helping the victims.

“Blood is something that money cannot buy,” he remarked. Many people were donating money and other items to the disaster victims, but it seemed that no one thought of donating blood. It dawned on him that if such a disaster will to happen in Singapore, blood will definitely be needed. Therefore, aside from the monetary contribution, he decided to make a personal contribution by donating blood again.
